In 1999 Caterpillar Inc. purchased a world wide license for iSolutions life cycle costing tool, MARC Analyzer. Analyzer has been installed at most large Caterpillar dealers around the world and is still used and supported today.
The company's flagship product, AMT, began life in 2001 at several large mine sites in Indonesia. It is used by Trakindo, the Indonesian Caterpillar Dealer, to manage fleets at sites like Freeport, Batu Hijau (Newmont) and Sorowako (INCO). Since then, four major OEM’s are using AMT to manage their mining contracts and tenders. Komatsu acquired a global license for AMT in 2006 and it is being progressively rolled out at various Customer sites.
Terex and Hitachi also use AMT globally to manage their many maintenance and repair contracts and assist with tendering and plant rate development.
Mining companies have adopted AMT too. Newmont’s Yanacocha mine has been using AMT for mobile equipment for 2 years and is currently rolling out AMT for all process and fixed plant on the site and BHP Billiton has chosen AMT to provide a modeling solution for their premier Olympic Dam Expansion project based in South Australia.
To fill a niche for earthmoving contractors, iSolutions has recently extended the functionality to Contract Earthmovers by adding the functionality of a Plant Rate / Plant Hire module that is being utilized by John Holland’s new contract mining division, Marshall Mining. |
